Liz Love.

A couple of weeks ago, Liz Love (a good friend from back in high school) asked if we could hang out together for an afternoon and talk cameras.  It was excellent being able to see her again.  We started off with lunch at the delicious MVP’s a few blocks away from mine and Matt’s apartment, then set out for a quick little shoot around town.

We ended up walking up an down 4th street here in Long Beach and had a blast!  Shooting her was easy, she was very comfortable and natural in front of the camera.  I even got a few turns to get in front of the lens and attempt looking like a normal person.  In any case, here’s the fabulous Liz Love!  Hope you all enjoy :)

Melinda graduated!

Everyone has that best friend growing up 4 houses down the street who you end up spending most of your childhood with.  For me, this person was Melinda.  Melinda has been going to school at UC Riverside to get her BA in creative writing – a thing she’s stuck with since we were about 13 years old.  Most of our time back then was spent sitting in my room writing pages of stories so that we could trade after.  These are some of my favorite memories :)

Sometimes life takes us in different directions, and now a days Melinda and I don’t get to see each other much.  So, when she gave me the heads up that she wanted me to shoot her graduation portraits, I was ecstatic!  We had a blast catching up and she was a breeze to shoot.

Melinda: I’m so proud of you for going so far with your writing – the one thing I’ve always seen you most passionate about.  It’s pretty crazy to have seen you grow up into the confident writer I always knew you’d become.  I know you’ll be successful in your career, and you’ll love every second of it!  I hope we have a chance to see each other soon :)

Kevin, Bridget and Conor.

Bridget asked me a few weeks ago if I could take some photographs of her and Kevin by the tree I photographed them in front of for Bridget’s maternity portraits.  I’m always up for hanging out with my awesome cousin and his equally awesome fiance, as well as the ferociously adorable baby Conor, so I happily agreed.  It’s amazing to see how much their family has grown since the last time I saw them – and I don’t just mean Conor!  To see them so happy together with both of the boys is quite a treat – I’m eagerly anticipating their wedding in July!

Here are just a few of my favorite shots from our short little portrait / family shoot :)

Bret and Lulu.

A few weeks ago I drove out to Riverside for a maternity / baby shower details shoot.  This is where I met Bret and Lulu, who had traveled all the way from Las Vegas to visit family, enjoy the lovely California weather, and celebrate the fast approaching arrival of their son.

Bret and Lulu were sweet as can be and tons of fun to work with.  They were comfortable in front of the camera, and their excitement about their son was apparent.  I suppose I can let the photos speak for themselves at this point..

Adorable little pre-babyshower jump-tent party in here :)
