Lunch with Jeannie.

November 21, 2011 | 2 Comments

Last time I saw Jeannie, we had decided to get lunch together and just relax for an afternoon.  Yet, even when we’re not working, we’re still shooting each other.  Especially when we have lunch right by an awesome little park :)  Here are a few from our walk around the park.

Hair thrashing underneath the bridge was my favorite part of the day.  Aside from the Pei-Wei we got for lunch ;)

Rehearsal at Heritage Park.

November 15, 2011 | 3 Comments

Matt was best man at his best friend’s wedding a couple of months ago, so naturally he had to attend the rehearsal so he’d know where to stand and whatnot.  I went to observe.  Although the details of putting a wedding together were interesting, there were three adorable little kids running around.  Guess what I spent most of my time doing.. ;)

Marco and Rocio 9.24.11.

November 1, 2011 | 2 Comments

It’s been a little too long since my last post.. I’ve been so busy lately that it’s hard to find a chance to sit down and construct a full blog entry.  Now that I’m starting to catch up on my work though, there will be many a-post coming up in the foreseeable future ;)

Marco and Rocio were married at an awesome little venue in the middle of Hesperia with a first-class view of the rolling hills.  The ceremony took place in what looked like a shady orchard, surrounded by apple and peach trees (which Rocio and I enjoyed during our first client meeting).  After the ceremony, we found the perfect spot for a majority of my favorite pictures from this wedding on top of the venue’s property.

Beautiful couple, beautiful venue.. What more could ya ask for on a clear, sunny day in the middle of Hesperia?

And of course, with fun people come fun faces :)

Also, huge shout-out to Seth of Seth DeDoes Photography for coming along and second shooting with me.  Thank you again, Seth!  You helped me out soo much :)

Chris and Claire 7.31.11.

Back again with another amazing wedding for you all to put your peepers on!  Another great day spent with the fantasic Jeannie Mutrias, an awesome couple, and all their friends and family.

Chris and Claire were an absolute blast to work with.  All smiles, laughs and some gnarly faces thrown in here and there throughout the day.  I went home that night with sore sides from laughing with them so much :)

Before I get into the photos, I just wanted to point out something that struck me as very awesome and very brave.  Claire took the time to hand-make every single one of her brides maids dresses.  There are five brides maids.  Pretty crazy cool, right?  Well, she didn’t only make all five brides maids dresses.. she made her own wedding dress too!  I was blown away by how much time, care and love she put into every detail of her wedding.  I’ve got mad respect for you, miss lady!  Not to mention that everything turned out perfect.

And of course.. RIDICULOUS FACES :D

The Inn at Fawnskin.

September 6, 2011 | 1 Comment

My cousin Kevin and his AWESOME fiance Bridget (who’s lovely faces have been on my blog two times before this post!) got married up in Big Bear at the Inn at Fawnskin last month.  I don’t often get to attend weddings as a guest, so I took complete advantage of being able to capture my cousin’s wedding from a guest’s perspective.

The Inn at Fawnskin was a tiny little cottage in the midst of hundreds of trees stretching up towards the sky.  We were able to enjoy the greenery, blue skies, dappled light, and perfect temperature on the day of Kevin and Bridget’s wedding.  I even got to see Jeannie hard at work too!  Which was strange since I’m normally shooting weddings with her, instead of visiting with other guests and drinking wine.

A fun, intimate little wedding with my little family, welcoming another member officially into the clan; as far as I’m concerned, Bridget has been a part of our family since the first time she came to dinner at my parent’s house :)  congrats again, you guys!

My mom got a few shots of Matt and I, which I’m thrilled with :)

Grandma on the left, Mutti (our mom is called Mutti) on the right

I freaking ADORE baby Conor.  And his big brother Jack :)  cutest little guys ever!

Not sure if you guys know my dad, Fabs (our mom is called Mutti, our dad is Fabs.  Family weirdness, but our parents love us anyway).

And now that you guys all know what most of my family members look like, you can shout at them if you happen to recognize them walking down the street ;)  Tell them they looked supah hot on my blog!

Beach House in Ventura 2011.

September 3, 2011 | 3 Comments

It’s been almost two months since my boyfriend Matt and I headed up to Ventura to join his family at a beach house they rented for the week of 4th of July.  Going through these photos brings me back to a vacation of no stress, all relaxation, a little bit of beer and margaritas, and a lot of fun.

We saw a lot of cool things right in the backyard of this beach house on a somewhat regular basis.  The front yard was what I imagine a tropical garden would look like.  The sun set right where we could see all the colors of the horizon blazing.  One evening enormous pelican even landed on the rocks in the backyard and almost got into a fight with the family dog Winston!

Winston would NOT stop digging in the sand almost the entire time we were there!  I think the texture freaked him out a little bit.

We tried to find grunion, but found the police trying to catch people shooting off fireworks instead.

Winston tired himself out so much at the end of the trip that we posed him with a tequila bottle and he didn’t even move from his spot.

Funny faces :)

Jaxson is 6 months old!

August 25, 2011 | 1 Comment

Jaxson is so freaking adorable that it’s hard to put into words.  I could go look on Thesaurus.com, and just list every synonym it gives me for the word ‘cute’ and then post all of his photos, but that’s boring.

I met Jaxson when he was barely 2 months old.  He was TINY!  One of the smallest babies I’ve ever seen!  Don’t let his small appearance from four months ago fool you though, his personality has never been small.  During his first shoot, while I was chatting with his parents Cory and Kerilynn, he was making all sorts of noises trying to join the conversation with sounds rather than words.

Not only has Jaxson grown at least twice in size since I last saw him, but he’s CRAWLING now!  It absolutely blew my mind to be able to go from meeting this itty bitty, brand new person only a few months ago to watching him crawl after Cory’s keys across the grass like he was a miniature man on a mission.  Just look back on his newborn photos and compare them to how he looks now, I guarantee you’ll definitely see a big change!  Cory and Kerilynn, he’s going to be a teenager before you know it, enjoy this for as long as you can :)

Now, I don’t normally include silly pictures, despite the fact that I am almost filled to the brim with silliness myself.  Yet, Cory, Kerilynn and Jaxson are a family after my own heart.  They embrace the things that make them laugh!  I love it!  For this post (and hopefully more to come!), I’m including a short but sweet “blooper” collage.  The following three images are some of my personal favorites :)

Dorian’s First Photos!

August 13, 2011 | 2 Comments

Some of you may remember adorable little Jaxson from his portraits that made it up onto my blog about six months ago.  Shortly after giving Jaxson’s photos to his parents I met his aunt Deandra who was four months pregnant with Dorian at the time.  Of course she looked through her nephew’s photos, loved them, and it was decided that I would be taking her new son’s first photos as well :)

Deandra, Tray and Dorian make a lovely family, and they were all a pleasure to work with!  Despite the fact that Dorian wasn’t too thrilled about the prospect of having a big camera hovering around his face at first, the images turned out beautifully.  I’m proud to have been a part of taking Dorian’s first photographs.  I hope you all enjoy!

Chris and Miranda 7.9.11

August 8, 2011 | 2 Comments

Chris and Miranda, I can’t possibly say enough nice things about them, their family, their friends, and their beautiful backyard wedding celebration.  They were an awesome, beautiful couple to work with!  Their guests were friendly and had a wonderful time laughing, visiting and celebrating.  Not to mention, their two children were absolutely gorgeous.  I had a field day capturing their happiness on their parents’ big day.

It’s easy to see what a huge success their celebration turned out to be.  See for yourself :)

Cory and Jessica 6.11.11

July 24, 2011 | 6 Comments

Hi guys!

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity of shooting a wedding very close to home – right in the heart of downtown Long Beach!  Cory and Jessica are a lovely, wonderful couple who were a blast to work with, and the scenery made a beautiful backdrop.  Not only did we (by we I of course mean the talented Jeannie Mutrias [http://www.jeanniemutrias.com/] and myself) have a gorgeous background, but the weather was perfect too!  I happily kicked off my shoes for just about all of the shots we got on the beach :)

The guests were friendly, the food and dessert smelled like heaven, and Cory and Jessica’s wedding unfolded all day long as a lovely event.
